Course Side Dish
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 360°F for about 5 minutes.
  • Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized fries, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Place the potato fries in a large bowl and cover them with cold water. Allow them to soak for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry using a kitchen towel or paper towels.
  • Place the dried fries back into the bowl and drizzle with avocado oil. Toss well to ensure all the fries are coated.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper over the oiled fries and toss again to evenly distribute the spices.
  • Carefully transfer the seasoned fries to the preheated air fryer basket. Make sure they are arranged in a single layer without overcrowding. You may need to cook them in batches.
  • Cook the fries in the air fryer for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking. The fries should turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Once cooked, remove the fries from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve the homemade air fryer fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce or as a side dish to your main meal.

Notes

  • For best results, choose starchy potatoes like Russet or Yukon Gold.
  • Make sure to cut the potatoes into evenly sized pieces for even cooking.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasonings according to your taste preferences.
  • Cooking times may vary depending on the model of your air fryer. Adjust accordingly.
